Program Description

WIOA Eligible Program
This program is approved for federal funding under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), which means individuals who meet certain criteria may qualify for financial assistance.

The program emphasizes practical applications in the areas of site development; route surveying and design; topographic drafting; hydraulics/hydrology; the selection, specification, and testing of soils, concrete, asphalt, and other construction materials for the construction industry. The use of computers for CAD, data acquisition, and analysis is integrated throughout the program preparing graduates for immediate productivity in the profession. Graduates of the Civil Engineering Technology program may work as engineering technicians in offices of civil/surveying/structural/consulting engineering firms; local, state, and federal departments of natural resources; transportation/highway departments; material testing laboratories; and flood control and soil conservation agencies.
