Program Description

WIOA Eligible Program
This program is approved for federal funding under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), which means individuals who meet certain criteria may qualify for financial assistance.
The Automotive Technician Apprenticeship program is designed to prepare students for work in the automotive industry. Students receive both classroom and hands-on instruction in Sussex Tech's automotive shop. Students can attain industry specific certifications (ASE Certs) as the progress through the program. Job placement services are available. Participants must be at least 18 years of age and score 239 on the reading and 236 on the math CASAS test. Participants must be a state registered apprentice in order for your on the job training hours to count toward a journeyman certificate. This course provides only the hours required for classroom instruction. This means that after the first year of training, participants must have a sponsor and must be employed; otherwise, this program may not lead to a journeyman.

Outcomes & Opportunities

Students can attain industry specific certifications (ASE Certs) as the progress through the program.
