Program Description

WIOA Eligible Program
This program is approved for federal funding under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), which means individuals who meet certain criteria may qualify for financial assistance.

The Sussex Tech Adult Education CDL-B driver training prepares students to earn a Commercial Driver's License (CDL), Class B License, enabling them to drive many types of commercial vehicles. The program is offered on a part-time evening basis, allowing participants to work and train at the same time. The program includes classroom instruction, focused on preparing participants for the written exam, yard training, consisting of truck inspection and on-site driving in a controlled environment, and supervised over-the-road driving. Must be at least 18 years old, have a Delaware driver's license without points, a Department of Transportation physical (DOT physical), and CDL-A permit from Delaware Department of Motor Vehicle.
