Program Description

The ITWorks program helps prepare young adults (18 -26 years old) for entry-level IT careers without the need for a degree. Through a 16-week program provided at no cost, students are taught industry-led skills to pass the CompTIA A+ certification. Students spend the first 11 weeks learning about PC hardware, troubleshooting, IT networking, security, and more to prepare for the Cisco IT Essentials and the CompTIA A+ certifications. Over 100 hours of professional development and networking experience allows students to sharpen technical and professional skills. Then, students gain real-life, hands-on experience during a five-week internship at a local corporation or nonprofit. A spring and a fall cohort are offered each year.
