Program Description
WIOA Eligible Program
This program is approved for federal funding under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), which means individuals who meet certain criteria may qualify for financial assistance.
This 6-week training course is designed to prepare participants for work in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, home care, etc. Students will complete a total of 206 hours over the course of 6 weeks. At the completion of the course, all students will take the Delaware State Test for Nurse Aide Certification.
The curriculum will prepare students for practice and certification which includes: the aging process, anatomy and physiology, attention to performing activities of daily living, developing communication skills, dementia training, infection control, promoting health and caring during illness, psychosocial needs, safe practice, and work ethics to name a few areas. In addition, professional conduct and employability skills are emphasized with each phase.
Outcomes & Opportunities
At the completion of the course, all students will take the Delaware State Test for Nurse Aide Certification.
