Program Description

WIOA Eligible Program
This program is approved for federal funding under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), which means individuals who meet certain criteria may qualify for financial assistance.
Students will be trained to perform the duties of a pharmacy technician in both retail and hospital settings. Program elements include pharmacy theory and lab, including pharmacy fundamentals, math, physiology, records and inventory, and HIPAA regulations and compliance. Program includes two 25-hour internship rotations, one in a hospital and one in a retail setting. Tuition includes books, uniforms, certification exams, and drug screening. Upon completion, students will be scheduled for the PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) exam. Prerequisite: Attendance at an information session. *Internship/ clinical experience included (hours may vary from course schedule). Minimum 10.0 grade-level equivalent in BOTH Reading and Math
